The male cyclist, who has not been named, was travelling on the A6072 between Shildon and Bishop Auckland in the early hours of Saturday April 6th when he was hit by a black Skoda.

THREE people have been arrested after a car driver mounted the curb and left a cyclist with serious injuries.

Police are appealing for information after the driver hit the 26-year-old man with his white car at Crawford Terrace in Newcastle’s Walker at around 9.10pm last night.

He was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
