Walton-on-Thames crash injures cyclist (10/8/11)
A teenage cyclist is in a serious condition in a hospital in London after a road crash in Surrey.
Surrey Police said the boy, aged 14, suffered serious head injuries after his bike was in a collision with a Vauxhall Astra in Walton-on-Thames.
The teenager was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel after the crash on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers closed Rydens Road while the collision was investigated. Police have appealed for witnesses.
